- In Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, there is a cat named Chobi known as the “Lucky Temple Cat.”
京都府京都市に「幸運の寺猫」と呼ばれる猫、チョビがいます。 - The owners are the husband and wife who serve as the head priest at Inabado (Byodo-ji), and they are also involved in rescuing stray cats. Chobi was one of the cats they rescued.
飼い主は稲葉堂（平等寺）の住職夫妻で、野良猫を保護する活動もしています。チョビもそのうちの一匹でした。 - Many people with serious illnesses and their families visit the temple.
お寺には、重い病気を抱えた人やその家族が大勢参拝に来ます。 - People are delighted when Chobi approaches them during their visit or sits on their lap, believing that something good might happen as the lucky cat has come to them.
チョビが参拝者のそばに行ったり膝の上に乗ったりすると、「幸運の猫が来てくれたから良いことがあるかもしれない」と喜ばれています。
