Deer Cracker Vending Machine
Nara Park, a sightseeing spot in Nara Prefecture, is home to many free-ranging deer. Tourists can buy “deer crackers” as a snack for the deer and give them directly to the deer. Recently, it is now also available in vending machines. The boxes for the vending machine packages are made of paper material mixed with discarded rice for durability. The boxes are also made to be souvenirs, thereby promoting environmental friendliness, and a portion of the proceeds is donated to deer protection organizations.
