Taiji Town in Wakayama Prefecture, where whales can be seen year-round, has had a close relationship with whales for over 400 years. At the “Taiji Whale Museum,” visitors can enjoy feeding whales and dolphins and watching shows. Since 2008, two small whales have been exhibited publicly in a netted cage at Whale Beach from mid-July to mid-August every year. Twice a day, for about 15 minutes each, you can observe whales swimming naturally right in front of you while bathing in the sea. The event was held again this year, and the children had a blast.
