This refers to makeup used to redden the upper part of the cheekbones. It is so called because it creates the impression of having just taken a bath. It is also called “yopparai meiku” (drunk makeup) – as it looks as if the person is drunk on alcohol – or “kesshoku meiku” (rosy complexion makeup).
