Equivalent to Marriage
A movement towards gaining a deeper understanding of LGBT (sexual minority) couples is progressing. The municipality of Shibuya in Tokyo Prefecture is issuing a certificate to acknowledge a “relationship equivalent to marriage” for same sex couples. Legal proceedings to allow same gender marriages in Japan are underway.
