In Japan, there is no end to the number of scams in which people call elderly people pretending to be their child or grandchild and try to trick them into transferring or bringing them cash. In the midst of all this, a warning sign was put up at Kita-Shinagawa Station on the Keikyu Line. “Attention: Passengers who have a large amount of cash and are waiting for your son or grandchild at Kita-Shinagawa Station!! Please come to the station office and ask for a station attendant, because we have a message for you!” In fact, by talking to the station sta, they discovered that they were about to be scammed and were able to avoid being taken for a ride.
