Japanese baseball player (pitcher) KIKUCHI Yusei who belonged to the Saitama Seibu Lions joined the Seattle Mariners in January. Having long dreamed of making it to the major leagues, he has studied English since junior high school. That’s why he was able to not only introduce himself, but also respond to interview questions in English. Many Japanese players have done these interviews, but, to the surprise of local media, he was the first player who spoke in fluent English.
