Nuhara (Noodle Harassment)

This refers to the phenomenon of foreigners finding the sound of Japanese people slurping their noodles unpleasant. However, it’s normal to make a noise while eating soba, ramen, or other noodles in Japan. Some people say that it’s a Japanese custom to make a noise while eating.
