Peer Pressure

This refers to the unspoken pressure to think and behave like those around you. Japanese people tend to be strongly swayed by peer pressure, meaning that they will follow rules without being forced to do so. For this reason, if they did something like going out without a mask on, they would be bothered by the disapproving looks of others.
