Sumo is Japan’s national sport.
At this January’s tournament, Tochinoshin was victorious.
There are many foreign wrestlers, but this is the first time a Georgian wrestler has won the tournament.
In the past, wrestlers from Hawaii and, in more recent years, Mongolia have won many tournaments.
Tochinoshin used to have a higher ranking, but due to a knee injury, his rank dropped so far that he didn’t even earn a salary.
From this, he managed to rise up to win the tournament.
Many people were impressed by this, and congratulated him.
