Solitary Seats
In student cafeterias, solitary seats partitioned off with screens are catching on at campuses nationwide. The seats are called “bocchi seki” since they are for solitary (hitori’bocchi) eating. The space was created at the request of students who like to eat alone without feeling constrained.
