In April this year, “Coco” the house cat was appointed as chief of police for one day at Toyama South Police Station, Toyama Prefecture.
Last year, when her owner’s neighbors noticed Coco staring at a canal near her house, they discovered a man lying there.
The cat’s owner and neighbors worked together to rescue the man, and Coco received an award from the police.
After being appointed as police chief for a day, Coco took part in a traffic safety class at an elementary school in Toyama City. The children went over traffic safety rules with Coco.
