A 100-year-old post office in Kagoshima Prefecture is being reborn. The post office was located a 10-minute drive from the town center and was scheduled to be torn down. However, Shimozono Satsuo Syouten Co., Ltd. purchased the building to preserve it. With so many similar stores everywhere you go, they thought that having a unique store that could not be found anywhere else would make the world a more pleasant place to live. As “Yamaneko (wildcat) Bottling Laboratory,” it sells pickles, sweets, and other items made from locally grown ingredients. It will open this summer.
