Onitarou

New Expressions & Buzzwords | 鬼太郎

Onitarou

This refers to the son of the demon killed by “Momotaro” – a hero in a fairytale that almost all Japanese are familiar with. More and more schools are running classes that examine the question of whether or not the killing of demons is justified. The debate was sparked by a commercial with the tag line of “My father was killed by a guy called Momotaro.”
