It can be said in Japan that MISORA Hibari is a singer equivalent to Elvis PRESLEY and The Beatles. She dominated the singing world from she was a child until she died at the age of 52, and she was awarded the National Honorary Award. In commemoration of the 71st anniversary of her birth, 71 of her songs have gone on sale on the “iTunes” site delivered by America Apple Co.. People in 22 countries can now buy Hibari’s songs. If you buy all the songs, a biography of the singer written in Japanese and English, and 7 pictures of record-sleeves will be given as a bonus. An introductory version including such songs as “Over the Rainbow,” “Ave Maria,” and “Akatombo” is also available. In August, additional songs are planned to be re-released.
