| Buddhist art is becoming increasingly
popular in Japan. Sri Lanka, which means “land
of serendipity,” has a long history and culture
of more than 2,000 years. In this special exhibition
about 150 items including statues of Buddha, religious
art works and jewelry will be exhibited. Besides art
works, the exhibition will introduce the rich culture
of Sri Lanka through photos of ancient wall paintings
found at World Heritage sites and remains in the country.
Admission fee: Adult 1,200 yen. Held from Sep. 17
to Nov. 30 at Tokyo National Museum (Ueno, Tokyo).
